How to Have Good Hygiene

Having good hygiene is extremely important. Not only can it keep away bacteria, viruses and other diseases, it can even affect your confidence, mood, and emotions. Here are a few steps to have good hygiene!

Taking Showers

Make sure to take a shower at least once a day. It’s fine to skip a day once in a while if you're, for example, travelling and not able to shower on that travel day. Taking a shower is very important because you want to wash off all the grime and germs you might have attracted throughout the day. Another tip for your overall health is to ensure you’re using products that don’t have too many chemicals inside them. You can wash your hair every other day if you don’t feel like washing it everyday.

Deodorant

Putting on deodorant is a crucial point in hygiene. It can really help you during stressful or particularly hot days where you may start sweating. When you’re choosing a deodorant, try and find one without too many chemicals. If you can’t find one in your price range, make one yourself. First, get a glass jar with a pump. Add in coconut oil and a couple drops of your favorite essential oil and shake the bottle a couple of times. Not only does coconut work better than a normal deodorant, it also moisturizes your skin after you’ve shaved!

Clothes

Try not to wear second-day clothes. We all have a favorite shirt or sweater that we want to wear all the time, but this can easily impact our hygiene. If you do really want to wear a specific clothing item more than one time, try only wearing it indoors. Clothes get dirty when they're worn outdoors; it's also unhygenic as we may be bringing in all types of germs and bacteria into our home if we don’t wash our clothing regularly. Outerwear items are a bit safer, but just make sure that you aren’t wearing the same jacket both inside and outside the house.

Washing Your Face

It’s often suggested that everyone should wash their faces twice a day: once in the morning and once at night. If you don’t feel the need to use face wash products, then don’t use them. You can just splash some water on your face to get rid of any sweat or dirt that has accumulated. 

Brushing Your Teeth

Brushing and flossing your teeth is is key to your dental hygiene. This is the best way to keep your teeth healthy and clean. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once. You don't want to end up with bad breath!

There are a couple of products that are handy to have when you’re outside or traveling. Hand sanitizers are great when your hands feel a little dirty. Mint tablets or gum is refreshing and can help clear bad breath. Hand lotion can also help with dry, chapped skin. There are so many different products you can purchase to keep yourself feeling clean and fresh throughout the day.

Hygiene is very important because it can lead to having good or bad overall health. Feeling clean and fresh can also make you happier and feel lighter. This is why it’s important to stick to your everyday cleaning routine to feel clean on the inside and the outside!
